Privacy Policy for Epizeuxis, again!
Effective Date: May 8, 2026
Welcome to Epizeuxis, again! (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring compliance with global data protection laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) in the United States, the UK Data Protection Act, and other applicable privacy regulations worldwide.
If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Website. By using the Website, you consent to the practices described in this policy, where consent is required under applicable law.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Website includes:
- Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, or other contact information that you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us or subscribe to updates (if applicable).
- Usage Data: Information about how you use the Website, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and clickstream data.
- Cookies and Tracking Data: Data collected via cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies, including device identifiers, location data (if enabled), and advertising identifiers.
- Advertising Data: Google AdSense is enabled on the Website and collects data related to your interactions with advertisements, such as ad impressions, clicks, and conversions. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g., racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data) unless you voluntarily provide it, and we will handle it in compliance with applicable laws.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you provide it (e.g., via contact forms or email).
- Automatically as you navigate the Website using cookies, server logs, and other tracking technologies.
- From third-party analytics or advertising service providers we engage now or in the future.
3. Use of Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the Website.
- To improve user experience and analyze Website usage.
- To serve relevant advertisements via Google AdSense.
- To communicate with you, respond to inquiries, or send updates (with your consent where required).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
- For any other purpose with your consent.
Under GDPR and similar laws, our legal bases for processing include consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., Website analytics and advertising), and legal compliance.
4. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
- With Service Providers: We engage Google AdSense (advertising), Google Analytics (web analytics), Google Fonts (typography delivery — note that Google Fonts may log requesting IP addresses), and Amazon Web Services including Amazon Polly (text-to-speech audio synthesis for video narration). These third parties may use your data to provide their services and, in the case of AdSense, to provide personalized ads based on your browsing history across sites. For information about Google's privacy practices, see https://policies.google.com/privacy. For Amazon's practices, see https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- With Your Consent: We may share data with third parties when you give us permission.
We do not sell your personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA.
Operational tools (no visitor data): The Website is built using operational services that do not receive or process visitor information. These include Amazon Web Services for hosting, content storage, content delivery, audio synthesis, and outbound email (S3, CloudFront, Lambda, Route 53, SES, Polly); xAI for AI-generated images and videos; Microsoft 365 for inbound business email; and Buffer for scheduled posts to X/Twitter. These services receive only content authored by the site operator (such as image-generation prompts, post text, or audio-synthesis text), never data about you as a visitor.
4a. Google Analytics Advertising Features
Per Google's policy requirements for Google Analytics Advertising Features, we disclose the following:
- Features potentially in use: Google Analytics 4 (web analytics) and Google AdSense (advertising). If we enable any GA Advertising Features (Remarketing with Google Analytics, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, Demographics and Interest Reporting, or Integrated Services that require GA to collect advertising data), this section identifies them. As of the effective date above, these features are not actively enabled unless specified here.
- How cookies combine: First-party cookies set by Google Analytics (such as
_ga) and third-party cookies set by Google advertising products (such as DoubleClick / Google Ads cookies) may be combined to provide audience insights, remarketing, and interest-based advertising. This combination occurs at Google's infrastructure; we do not directly merge personally identifiable information with these identifiers.
- How to opt out:
We do not identify users or facilitate the merging of personally identifiable information with information collected through Google advertising products without affirmative consent.
4b. Google Analytics User-Provided Data Collection (User-ID Policy)
Per Google's User-provided-data collection for User-ID Policy, we disclose the following:
- Feature status: The Website does not currently use Google Analytics' user-provided-data collection feature, the User-ID feature, or any cross-device identity-stitching feature. We do not pass personally identifiable information (PII) such as email addresses, phone numbers, names, or street addresses to Google Analytics.
- If enabled in future: Should we ever enable user-provided-data collection in connection with a User-ID, we will:
- Hash any PII data fields (email, phone number, first and last name, street address) using the SHA256 algorithm before transmission, in accordance with Google's policy. Country, state, city, and zip code fields are not hashed.
- Obtain explicit affirmative consent from end users for the collection, transmission, and use of PII, including consent to associate unauthenticated and authenticated session activity.
- Obtain consent for any additional measurement, targeting, audience personalization, or reporting activities that consume this data, including via linked Google Ads or other Google services.
- Treat such consent as independent of Google Consent Mode's
ad_storage and analytics_storage settings, which govern only cookie behavior — not the PII flow described here.
- Existing data flows to Google: Page-view, session, device, and approximate-geographic data flow to Google Analytics via the standard tracking script (
gtag.js). These flows are governed by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy, and do not include hashed PII.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance user experience and, when enabled, serve ads. Cookies are small files stored on your device.
- Essential Cookies: Necessary for Website functionality.
- Analytics Cookies: To understand how visitors interact with the Website.
- Advertising Cookies: Google AdSense uses cookies to deliver personalized ads and may track your activity across sites for ad targeting.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. For AdSense-specific opt-outs, visit Google's Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org. Under GDPR, we obtain consent for non-essential cookies where required.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request erasure of your data (right to be forgotten).
- Restriction: Limit processing of your data.
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent.
- Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: Under CCPA/CPRA, opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell data).
To exercise these rights, contact us at contact email. We will respond within the timeframes required by law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA). For California residents, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests.
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, to protect your data in compliance with GDPR and other laws.
9. Children's Privacy
The Website is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. For COPPA compliance, parental consent is required if applicable.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on the Website and updating the effective date. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the changes.
